Paint Shop Plastic Parts
Steyr Automotive operates one of Europe’s largest paint shops for truck plastic add-on parts, as well as a metal paint shop and a manual paint line.
Facts and Figures about the plant:
- Current exterior plastic components include: pre-assembly scopes for MAN production network.
- Capacity approx. 3 million individual parts per year
- Waste-water-free paint mist separation
- 36 robots in our paint booths
- More than 800 active colours per year
- Logistical supply of the assembly plants with more than 13,000 parts per day, exclusively ‘just in sequence’
- Handling of approx. 80 truck trailers per day, inbound & outbound
- Material supply of more than 1,300 paint skids per day

Volta Trucks
- Production partner for innovative Swedish electric truck start-up
- Production of fully electric 16/18-ton trucks including assembly of transport box, specially developed for inner-city goods traffic
- Steyr Automotive was awarded the contract due to its extensive experience in commercial vehicle manufacturing, existing production facilities and resulting fast time to market
- Assembly of the first trucks 12 months after signing of the contract in fall 2022, start of series production at the beginning of Q2/2023
- Capacity for up to 14,000 vehicles per year
Palfinger
- Transfer of the assembly of truck mounted forklifts
- Production for the growth market of North America, around 1,700 units per year
- Steyr Automotive was awarded the contract based on the criteria of quality, know-how, cost efficiency, short start-up time, possible annual capacity expansion
- Preparations since April 2023, production as of September 2023
- Start with 6 units per day, capacity expansion up to 1,700 units per year

- Assembly of light and medium truck series until fall 2023
- Production of double/crew/slanted roof and military cabs
- Painting of exterior plastic parts incl. pre-assemblies
