With a groundbreaking ceremony, Steyr Automotive and Laimer Nutzfahrzeuge today officially launched the construction of a state-of-the-art workshop hall in Korneuburg. The new hall is being built directly on the site of Laimer Nutzfahrzeuge e.U. and will serve as a central service facility for waste collection and street cleaning superstructures from January 2026.
A modern workshop hall with its own spare parts warehouse, offices and outdoor parking and storage spaces is being built on a total area of around 1,500 m². The new infrastructure is specially designed for the maintenance and repair of MUT superstructures – Steyr Automotive's own brand – but also offers capacity for superstructures from other manufacturers. The location directly on the motorway enables quick delivery and collection of all customer vehicles. To start with, a team of five highly qualified service technicians on site will ensure that all work is carried out quickly and professionally. The recruitment of additional service personnel is already being planned.
‘The new workshop in Korneuburg is a central element of our service strategy for the MUT business unit. The additional capacity and modern infrastructure enable us to process service requests from our customers – especially in Lower Austria, Burgenland, Vienna and neighbouring countries – even faster and more efficiently,’ explains Günther Heiden, Managing Director of Steyr Automotive. ‘Our primary goal is to keep downtime in our customers' fleets as low as possible and to be on site as quickly as possible with short travel times.’
