The StART app (Steyr Automotive Range Tool) is now available free of charge. The app enables a pre-simulation of existing tours via tracking, creating a forecast of which configuration is required to complete each tour.

For LCVs (light commercial vehicles), the first step is to develop a platform on which three body variants could initially be created:
Panel van, open body variant for flatbeds or other bodies, and the open variants as double cabs.

The battery-electric vehicles would be equipped with up to four battery packs of around 45 KW/h each, which means a practical range of 120 – 480 km combined according to WLTP.

The objective is to be the benchmark for range, charging capacity, robustness and TCO (total cost of ownership).

For buses, Steyr Automotive’s concepts envisage city buses of 6 m and, above all, 9 m in length with battery-electric drive and a range of up to 280 km. The 9 m bus in particular can ensure better utilization of vehicles in the midi class in inner city areas, but also has its place in smaller communities and on secondary lines.

The 9 m bus is characterized by an open and friendly passenger compartment and, not least thanks to the special door-axle concept at the front, enables an optimized and fluid passenger flow.
