Steyr Automotive receives additional order:

 

Volta Trucks Box secures up to 180 additional jobs

 

Volta Trucks placed a substantial additional order with Steyr Automotive as contract manufacturer for the assembly and body mounting of the “Volta Trucks Cargo Box”.
“This expansion of the scope of the order for our customer Volta Trucks means a safeguarding of up to a further 180 jobs,” Johann Ecker, spokesman for the management of Steyr Automotive, is pleased to report.

 

Innovative box concept
Volta Trucks’ innovative box concept makes it possible to significantly reduce the complexity and number of variants of the truck vehicle. All customer wishes and thus variant requirements, such as loading and unloading or access and exit options, can be optimally represented using this box concept.
In addition, the Volta Trucks cargo box, supplied by Paneltex in the UK, impresses with the futuristic design of the roof shape in the front area of the truck. This aerodynamic design also achieves very good cW values.

 

Preparations for pilot series production underway
The Volta Trucks Box is being implemented in parallel with the main order. Preparations for pre-series production of the Volta Zero vehicles are on the home straight. The start of series production is planned for the beginning of 2023.

 

Steyr expertise in demand
In addition to good logistics and sustainability reasons for building and setting up the chassis and box at one location, by awarding the contract to Steyr Automotive, Volta Trucks is also relying above all on the experience and know-how gained from more than 100 years of developing and producing commercial vehicles at this location.
